About Me

Hello, I’m Daniel Ku, LMFT #100424. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for helping people find resilience, healing, and meaning in their lives. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your story, gain new insights, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

My Background

I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute, and I’ve been practicing therapy for over 8 years. Since 2001, I’ve worked in community-based mental health, supporting individuals across the spectrum of need—from those facing complex and severe challenges to those navigating everyday stress and transitions.

This experience has taught me the importance of meeting clients exactly where they are, offering both empathy and perspective as they work toward growth and healing.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process where you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, offering support, insight, and tools that can help you better understand yourself and move forward.

My work draws from:

  • Client-Centered Therapy – honoring your voice, values, and lived experience.
  • Attachment Theory – understanding how early relationships impact your current patterns and connections.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy – exploring the deeper roots of your struggles to create lasting change.

I often describe therapy as an “art gallery” of your experiences. My role isn’t to critique, but to observe, reflect, and help you see your life in new ways.

Who I Work With

I work with teens and adults who are navigating:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Stress and burnout
  • Life transitions and identity exploration
  • Relationship and family challenges

My Philosophy

I named my practice Move When It Counts because I believe that meaningful change happens when we take steps at the right time. Sometimes that means small shifts, and sometimes it means big leaps—but therapy provides a space to discover when and how to move forward.

If you’re ready to begin your journey, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
